Providence Health & Services System Director, Financial Planning and Analysis in Renton, Washington
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a System Director, System Financial Planning and Analysis to our location in Renton, WA.
We are seeking a System Director, System Financial Planning and Analysis to be responsible for overall financial consolidation and steering of resources for the entire System across its long range financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes. This position will work closely with regional and line of business finance executives and their teams across the System to implement and manage all financial planning processes. Primary areas of responsibility will include: coordination and facilitation of the PSJH long-range plan, rolling forecasts, budgets, allocations, and system-wide analytics to assure the financial stability of our ministry.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Develop recommended System financial targets, standards and policies for budgeting and planning; develop procedures for facilitating resource allocation decisions; support consistent interpretation and implementation of approved policies and standards across local entities; and most importantly, frame resource allocation decisions to the Executive Council through forecasting, budgeting and long range planning.
Develop best-in-class financial planning capabilities including rolling forecasting, central forecast models, and risk & opportunity scoreboards to ensure proper visibility of business health for executive leadership while propagating best practices across the System.
Develop the annual system budget and quarterly forecast with input from System, regional, and line-of-business executive leaders.
Direct team and facilitate the system-wide creation and consolidation of forecasts, plans and budgets for PSJH EBIDA, capital and NOI. Is responsible for assigning workloads, evaluating work performance, and making recommendations for personnel actions. Is accountable for maintaining employee engagement in a complex and stressful area.
Act as liaison between Shared Services Finance and Regional/Line of Business Finance in the development and reporting of the system allocations and other system shared services fees.
Oversee the operation and development of the system-wide standard financial planning tools for long-range planning, budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and scenario analysis.
Guide the development of financial analyses to forecast the financial impact of various operating and investment opportunities.
Complete special projects and business analysis designed to improve the financial performance of the System.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting or equivalent.
10 years of progressively more-responsible financial management experience, including supervising staff in an acute health care entity or multi-entity system.
Experience in an integrated health system in a headquarters function.
Possess an in-depth knowledge of the following in an acute health care setting: Budgeting, financial forecasting and financial analysis methods and procedures, overhead allocations, common data sources and user requirements for financial and clinical decision support applications,and financial management report design and common data sources.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
