Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Senior Reimbursement Analyst PSJH to our location in Renton, WA .
We are seeking a Senior Reimbursement Analyst PSJH to be responsible for execution of various reimbursement activities for the system that include evaluation, planning, coordination, and follow through to completion of such activities that include but are not limited to: Analysis & Preparation of Medicare, Medicaid, and other regulatory reports; wage index strategies, analysis & reviews; Medicaid Eligible Days analysis & reviews; developing strategy and guiding implementation of various cost based reimbursement strategies; preparation of DSH Surveys and Applications demonstrated knowledge of and working within any reimbursement methodology related to Medicare and Medicaid that have reimbursement implications. This position works independently in the daily tasks without significant supervision. This role will be heavily focused on working with the Regulatory Senior Managers, Directors of Reimbursement and VP of Reimbursement in building tools and templates to calculate impacts of changing regulations, operational changes, or new service lines on net revenue. Translating the impact to the budget process and predicting long-term impact to inform system quarterly/annual forecasting and budgets processes. In this role, you'll maintain in depth knowledge of Federal and State payment systems, understand how changes impact our health system, and assist in development of net revenue impact models.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Support the Regulatory Strategy Senior Managers in analyzing complex regulatory matters and estimating impact on PSJH revenue streams. Understanding how changes in regulations, payment mechanisms, and development of new pay for performance systems will impact the health system's Net Revenue is critical. Proactively identifies potential issues through forward looking analytics, as well as providing assistance in the training of fellow caregivers.
Medicare and Medicaid cost report preparation, defense at audit, and support of Medicare cost report appeals would be helpful, but not essential. The ability to learn the importance of the impact of regulatory changes on cost reporting and reimbursement is critical. Analyzes and utilizes Medicare and Medicaid cost reports and other regulatory filings, and the related work papers in accordance with all applicable regulations and PSJH policies under the guidance of the Senior Manager, in the analysis of Federal/State regulatory changes to determine impact.
Understand the impact of changing regulations on monthly journal entries to record third party settlements, and provider taxes payable and supplemental payments receivable. Assist Provide guidance to the Regulatory Reporting Managers/Director in validating that workbooks stay current with regulatory changes.
Perform basic financial analysis and provide technical support for Reimbursement leadership, as requested.
Continuously monitors workload and methodologies used to achieve results, making recommendations to improve efficiency and/or achieve cost savings whenever possible.
Ensure that all assigned statutory filings are timely and accurate.
Support analysis of Federal and State Regulatory Rule and Payment changes to inform Reimbursement leadership and system Finance.
Build Reimbursement Models with the guidance of Regulatory Strategy Senior Managers, Directors of Reimbursement, and VP of Reimbursement as assigned.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Mathematics/Statistics
5 years demonstrated experience in the healthcare finance or related field, including regulatory reporting. Previous work experience in consulting, in a multi-hospital system, or MAC is helpful.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Mathematics/Statistics
CPA or CHFP
