Description:

Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Senior Manager, IS Solutions Architect to Enterprise Information Services in Renton, WA.

We are seeking a IS Solutions Architect Senior Manager that will have scope across several or all business domains that fall within Administrative Technologies, like: Human Resources, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, and other non-clinical shared services.

The scope is both broad, across several the business units and connected, in terms of connecting multiple businesses together to create a seamless and simplified solutions. This role is both enterprise in nature and startup in mindset because we are creating and building this IS division from the ground floor. This role will work in a fast past environment, constant demands for better solutions, and will require strong problem resolution, technical solution, decision making, communication and partnering skills. It requires a combination of business problem understanding, current and cutting edge solutions, and strong technical proficiency.

This role requires someone to be both a leader and teacher as we bring in cutting edge solution mindset and skill set to the organization. It requires a leader to deal with high degrees of ambiguity and drive clear solution strategies, while bringing the business, fellow IS organizations and other Administrative Technology caregivers along the path to success.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Creation and validation of distributed architecture and design knowledge and experience using tools to provide secure, performant, and effective business solutions.

  • Provide architecture and design of solutions in that are cloud first and mobile enabled. Knowledgeable of Microsoft Azure Cloud and relevant services and how they can be brought to bear to provide world class enterprise solutions.

  • Be a thought leader and be key advisor in helping IS leadership in developing strategy and technical roadmap for solutions.

  • Work collaboratively across the IS organization to determine and/or refine business and technical solutions.

  • Provide leadership to another manager and a small technical team mainly comprised of software engineers and architects.

  • Research and investigate new capabilities of cloud services and other technologies. Provide timely insight and advice to leadership team to permit the leveraging of these technologies in future plans.

  • Ensure solutions comply with security, privacy, HIPPA, and other compliance and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent education/experience.

  • Minimum of ten (10) years in role providing relevant experience.

  • Ability to analyze information, evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

  • Demonstrate problem solving skills.

  • Adept at distributed architecture and design using cloud services. Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies, networking, and infrastructure and application security.

  • Strong focus on positive business outcomes.

  • Adept at collaborating using open communications across team boundaries and at all levels of the organization.

  • Solid knowledge of software and systems architecture and design.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Coursework/Training in Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or other automation tools.

  • Coursework/Training in AWS, Azure, or Google cloud environments.

  • Coursework/Training in Python, C#, JavaScript, PowerShell, or other languages.

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in complex systems and engineering environment with combination of engineering methodologies, with a preference toward Agile.

  • Demonstrated analytical skills and data-driven approach.

  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills.

  • Demonstrated time management and priority setting skills.
