Providence is calling for a Senior HR Consultant - ADA/LOA - PSJH to our location in Renton, WA.
We are seeking a Senior HR Consultant - ADA/LOA - PSJH to be responsible for serving as a strategic consultant/subject matter expert to HR Business Partners who face complex ADA/LOA and employee relations matters where expert knowledge and assistance is needed. The role includes promoting consistent and best practice approaches to positive employee and labor relations, adherence to HR policies, compliance with regulatory and policy requirements and standards, investigations.
Additional areas of accountability include providing guidance on disability accommodations and state and federal leaves of absence in coordination with the leave teams within PSJH, employee relations research, performance management consultations, identifying trends and patterns and need for critical intervention, effective record keeping, and data integrity and affirmative action planning. Provides expertise and appropriate competency-based systems to support regulatory requirements to include Federal and State employment, OSHA and other healthcare-related agency requirements. Maintains HR metrics and dashboards and reports to other HR professionals so actions can be aligned with findings. HRC performs all duties in a manner which promotes teamwork and reflects the Providence Health & Services mission, values and philosophy, and the values of the human resources division.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Provide technical expertise on disabilities and leaves, return-to-work issues, ADAAA, escalations.
Participate and/or lead efforts to ensure clear understanding of union contract requirements and ensure programs are compliant.
Work collaboratively with HR staff to manage risk and provide consistency in the administration and delivery of HR services (Risk Management, regulatory bodies, EEOC, state and municipal agencies-- ADA/LOA, Wrongful Discharge).
Support labor and employment counsel, both internal and external, in investigating and researching claims, responding to information requests/document production, and deposition support, preparation for mediation, arbitration and unfair labor practice charges.
Analyze and interprets HR data and other data sources for trends and opportunities.
Advocate fair & consistent workplace practices in accordance with mission, values, and legal parameters.
Promote and utilizes HR technology, metrics, and systems to support the overall needs of the business. Collaborates with HR partners and others if new tools are needed to ensure customers are provided trend reports and analytics in the most efficient manner.
Identify opportunities for problem resolution mediation to resolve issues between management and employees.
Make recommendations, draft and provide consultation on HR policies and procedures. IN alignment with ADM, may develop programs and tools for policy implementation.
Provide training and education to all levels of the organization regarding interpretation and implementation of applicable laws, HR policies and new initiatives.
Conduct Integrity and Compliance investigations.
Mentor HR Consultants, sharing skill, expertise and experience and providing subject matter expertise to HRC.
Ability to prepare and deliver presentations to explain processes, designs, and procedures. Excellent proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English.
Demonstrate outstanding communications skills including verbal communications and the written word; ability to listen and communicate in a manner that is easily understood and effective, responds appropriately and timely to requests, asks clarifying questions.
Demonstrate outstanding facilitation and mediation skills. Knowledge of structured meeting procedures.
Demonstrate ability to exercise sound judgment, work independently as well as collaboratively, and manages multiple competing demands.
Demonstrate the ability to develop and plan complex and long term projects taking into consideration multiple information sources.
Demonstrate skills in working collaboratively, courteously and tactfully with difficult situations and/or people to identify issues and solve problems.
Knowledge of statistics and ability to interpret/trend data.
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field or four (4) years experience in lieu of bachelor's degree
Eight (8) years HR Business Partner, HR Consultant
Five (5) years Multi-Unit/Multi-State and/or Multi-line of business
Master's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field
Five (5) years Integrated Health system experience
SPHR/PHR or SHRM-SCP/CP certification
