Cloud Engineering & Operations is responsible for hosting 25,000 servers. As we continue to modernize our environment, we’re leaving programs to ensure we are on the latest operating systems and SQL databases, lifecycling out end-of-life compute and storage hardware, driving a number of security-focused initiatives within Qualys and Patch Management, and optimizing our physical hosting locations. These projects help to feed priorities out to our application stakeholders and into our Azure migration team. In this role, you will be responsible for representing your work up to our executive leadership in weekly/monthly reviews and communications, engaging application leaders to drive work forward, facilitating execution of work between our operations teams, delivering automation requirements to modernize hosting services, unblocking issues with project delivery, leveraging data centralized in our SQL data warehouse to make data-driven decisions and report on progress of work, managing tasks through Azure Dev Ops, and driving towards outcomes which support the Providence Mission. In this role, you will act as both a Program and Project manager where you design a portfolio of work and organizational priorities alongside service owners and IT executives, and execute a number of projects in parallel. If you live outside the Puget Sound area, light travel may be required to our corporate office annually.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Responsible for advising, consulting, and/or managing a complex program of projects designed to support PSJH to achieve strategic goals and initiatives - including but not limited to - IS operations, informatics, project intake, growth and expansion, healthcare intelligence, integration, applications, and IT infrastructure. Typical programs assigned to a Sr Program Manager will span across several of these operational pillars and functional areas and may require collaboration and coordination with other programs.
Develop projects within a program in alignment with the organization’s strategic plans and objectives.
Build support to influence decisions in order to ensure work toward common objectives.
Proactively informs and influences others in order to maintain the balance required between business needs; project partner strategy and standards; and financial requirements and budgets.
Facilitate strategic planning with internal customers for deployment of information technologies and/or major services and products related to new growth and expansion efforts.
Manage client expectations for timelines and deliverables throughout the project/program lifecycle.
Develop and gain sponsor approval for project delivery dates.
Manage portfolio programs with increased complexity, strategic priority and/or visibility, system and/or regional priority.
Engages and organizes the assignment of activities of multi-functional teams, as well as the project estimates, task dependencies and schedule.
Scope, risk and issue management, including documenting, communicating and facilitating resolutions or mitigation plans.
Develop, initiate and manage a communication plan, including regular program status reports.
Manage stakeholders and multiple project teams in the context of a single program.
Act as a coach and mentor to others, especially (but not limited to) other project management staff.
Facilitate customer needs for multiple department and their associated lines of business.
Develop root cause analyses and process improvement plans.
Maintain all program artifacts.
Identify, deliver and document organizational, application and human workflows that contribute to policy and procedure updates throughout each project (when applicable).
Prepare and deliver presentations to senior leadership, management and stakeholders.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education/experience.
7 years Information Services/Information Technology and/or Healthcare Industry experience
7 years experience in the project/program management field
1 year relevant PPMO portfolio experience (e.g. EMR, Business Applications, M&A, Infrastructure, etc.)
Expertise and experience with Project Management methodology based upon project management principles, including experience implementing and facilitating complex decision-making structures among multiple executive stakeholders with varied interests and priorities
Demonstrated experience as a speaker in a professional presentation environment, such as conferences and association meetings
Experience with vendor/contract management and negotiations
Development and execution experience with business development, marketing, communications, financial planning, and benchmarks/metrics in support of improved quality and process design
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Six Sigma upon hire
2-5 years Agile/Scrum certifications or experience
1-2 years Azure Dev Ops experience
4-5 years IT datacenter hosting experience (i.e. compute, virtualization, storage, backup, Azure, patching, security)
Enterprise IT experience (10K server environment)
Advanced Excel & BI experience (i.e. VLOOKUP, PowerBI, SQL)
C-Level presentation experience
