Providence Health & Services Senior Developer - Population Health Analytics and Data Science -PSJH in Renton, Washington
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Senior Developer - Population Health Analytics and Data Science PSJH to our location in Renton, WA.
We are seeking a Senior Developer - Population Health Analytics and Data Science PSJH to work under the direction of Enterprise Care Management leaders utilizing his/her advanced subject matter expertise and coding skills to design advanced data sources, develop quality assurance processes, and test hypotheses. This position is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of reports, ETL and automation processes, and supporting documentation. The person will also provide ad hoc analysis under the direction of ECMC leadership.
This position is responsible for managing, updating, and optimizing all data mart tables and data assets required to support ECMC. This position will be the primary business subject matter expert on Community Pathways to Health data architecture and warehouse requirements working with various IT, HI, and vendor partners to deliver an optimal solution.
This position is responsible for collecting, analyzing, graphing and reporting data generated from clinical information systems, data tables, and external data sources. Analysis includes acute care, non-acute care, ambulatory, physician clinic, health plan data, and other areas of the continuum of care. This position is also responsible for assistance with planning, defining and testing new measures, development and documentation of data or automation collection processes, validate data accuracy, and improvement of data collections.
This position is a senior level position with advanced knowledge. The person in this role will serve as a mentor and coach for skills development for team members as needed. The person is this role will provide project, technical, and process guidance to team members and project participants as needed.
The audience for this position's work is the entire Providence St. Joseph Health system, from members of the Board of Directors to front line caregivers.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Data Management: Acquiring, validating, storing, protecting, and processing required data to ensure the accessibility, reliability, and timeliness of the data for its users.
Data Acquisition: Utilize advanced SQL, Snowflake SQL, Azure Databricks, PowerBI, Tableau, Informatica, Alteryx, and/or other tools for complex data acquisition, and/or is an advanced user of graphical user interface-based programs for very complex data acquisition projects
Data Architecture: Design advanced data sources, views and summaries and creates functional data architecture using proven strategies and schemas.
Data Validation / Accuracy: Develop quality assurance processes; performs data validation; critically evaluates the output to produce reports with a high degree of accuracy.
Reporting: Design and develop reports and data solutions utilizing Tableau, SQL, SSIS, and / or other tools.
Display / Visualization: Perform visualization design; completes challenging visualization projects independently; utilizes good sensibility in visual storytelling
Mentoring / Coaching: Serve as a mentor and coach for skills development for team members as needed.
Project Leadership: Serve as a project lead and provide project, technical, and process guidance to team members and project participants as needed.
Required qualifications for this position include:
BA/BS degree in Health Information Management, Computer Science, Mathematics, business administration, healthcare or a related clinical or analytic discipline.
Coursework/training equivalent of MA/MS degree in Health Information Management, Computer Science, Mathematics, business administration, healthcare or a related clinical or analytic discipline, or Six Sigma Black or other similar designation / certification.
4 years of relevant data management, data mart, and/or data architecture experience.
6 years of relevant data analysis required; a biomedical setting is preferred.
Experience with architecturing solutions using Azure Cloud tools and technology (Databricks, DeveOps, etc), database query and analysis languages (e.g. SQL, R, SAS, Python) and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI).
Ability to analyze information, evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
Demonstrated ability to elicit, analyze and communicate business requirements from multiple customers across disparate functions
Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.
Demonstrated ability to define, develop, and analyze performance measures and metrics.
Demonstrable working knowledge of spreadsheet, database, word processing and desktop publishing software.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in MA/MS degree in Health Information Management, Computer Science, Mathematics, business administration, healthcare or a related clinical or analytic discipline.
Certification in an IT discipline, application, or tool within 1 year upon hire.
