Providence Health & Services Senior Data Engineer in Renton, Washington
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Senior Data Engineer to one of our locations in the Seattle area, Portland, OR, or Irvine, CA.
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer who will design and build data solutions to support clinical and operational processes across Physician Enterprise and the Ambulatory Care Network. The Senior Data Engineer is an advanced subject matter expert in designing advanced data sources, utilizing modern data structure tools and techniques that leverage various data delivery strategies such as cloud based computing, big data and data science. The Senior Data Engineer provides data availability, movement (ETL) storage and execution in support of analytics, performance reporting and curated data. A Senior Data Engineer has a demonstrated ability to mentor and assist less experienced Data Engineers. Senior Data Engineers participate in research and recommendation of new technologies that support organizational and data solutioning changes.
The Senior Data Engineer is expected to perform all duties in a manner that promotes collaboration.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Design, build and deliver data solution applications that improve clinical quality, operations, patient experience and generate value and promote accurate decision making.
Clinical, Operational and Patient Experience expertise - advanced subject matter expert in applying knowledge in these areas to create definitions and identify best sources of data.
Continuous education on emerging technologies, organizational technology changes, and best practices in the field.
Data warehousing, big data, enterprise search, business intelligence, analytics, modern and mobile applications.
Build and maintain processes for data movement and execution that are consistent, reliable and repeatable.
Work effectively and in real-time with other engineers, analysts, clinical and operational analysts to understand, propose and deliver on data solutions.
Translate business requirements into sourced data applications necessary for analyst utilization and end user consumption of data and information.
Perform data movement through Extract, Transfer and Load software and standard process.
Mentor and train less senior staff.
Work effectively with both technical and non-technical members of the organization.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, MIS or similar field.
9 years In data architecture, database design and optimization, data engineering and data extract transfer and load.
Commercial ETL tool experience, Informatica or other.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Master's Degree.
