Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Senior Data Engineer PSJH to our location in Renton, WA; Irvine, CA or Portland, OR.
Strategic Technology Enablement (STE) is searching for a Data Engineer in support of STE technology partners: Research, Corp Comms, Community Partnerships, Marketing-Dex, Population Health. The candidate will work alongside Healthcare Intelligence's data warehouse and engineering team. The STE Data Engineer designs and builds modern data-centric software applications to support clinical and operational processes across all parts of the health system. These applications leverage cloud computing, big data, mobile, data science, and modern software development methodologies and frameworks. Data Engineers build data pipelines, enrichment processes, provisioning layers, APIs and user interfaces to meet the requirements of key initiatives. A Senior Data Engineer has a demonstrated ability to mentor and assist less experienced Data Engineers. Senior Data Engineers participate in research and development of new technologies to help set up repeatable processes or templates for other Data Engineers to follow. Strongly encourages and places a priority on collaboration with meticulous source control and documentation.
The work involved is usually highly important to the business objectives of the IS organization, is high-risk and/or time sensitive.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Subject Matter Exert (SME) in a verity of data / analytics platforms such as SQL, PowerBI and Microsoft Visual Studio/SSIS
Actively participate in code reviews, support the overall code base, and support the establishment of standard processes and frameworks. Participate in development of standard practices and enforce following standard processes. Design, build and delivery of quantitative analytics that improve operations and generate value
Data warehousing, big data.business intelligence, analytics
Participate in code reviews, supports the overall code base, and establishes standard data processes and frameworks
Act as a subject matter expert to guide and establish data governance methodologies
Mentor and train less senior staff
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, MIS or similar field
6 years in technology roles
Demonstrated analytical skills
Demonstrated problem solving skills
Promotes information sharing
Ability to work within tight timeframes and meet strict deadlines
Possesses strong technical aptitude
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, MIS or similar field or equivalent educ/experience
9 years in technology roles
