Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Senior Business Development Specialist - Genomics to Providence Strategic and Management Services in Renton, WA.

We are seeking a Genomics Business Development Specialist that will serve as the primary conduit and initial entry point for internal/external pathology departments, biopharma and medical device manufacturer engagement, prospecting and outreach for the System Genomics Program at Providence St. Joseph Heath. This role is critical in the success of the System Genomics Program & Health Insights strategic vision to accelerate healthcare and research 2.0 through widescale adoption of translational medicine services across multiple therapeutic areas within PSJH. In addition this position will assist both the program director and medical director of pathology in the delivery of key strategic initiatives related to expand test offerings within system genomics program, health insights and system research.

The specialist's primary areas of responsibility include developing strong internal & external relationships with providers, industry partners and health insights' stakeholders to increase internal genomics utilization as well enhance PSJH Health Insight's service offerings related to research as a service.

Responsibilities include the adoption of somatic genomics testing across all cancer centers and aligned/employed pathology departments within PSJH. Expansion of genomics services to external systems as opportunities arise and assisting Health Insights BD in the retention and recruitment of new biopharma & medical device manufacturer clients/collaborators. The position will serve as the system genomics & translational medicine advocate and ombudsman developing and managing communication between external clients and internal stakeholders.

The Genomics BD specialist works closely with System Genomics Program Leadership, System Research Executive Leadership Team, Executive Cancer Leadership, Executive Lab Medicine Leadership, Health Insights Leadership Team and PSJH legal to ensure compliance with all regulatory and PH&S Legal Affairs guidelines as well as DHHS/FDA research guidelines.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Outreach, prospecting and engagement of internal somatic testing at ALL PSJH cancer centers and affiliated/employed pathology medical groups.

  • Setup and coordination of onsite visits to internal and external customer meetings to evangualize translational medicine opportunities at PSJH.

  • Tracking and monitoring of sales pipeline/genomics testing roll out using multiple CRM tools to ensure adequate follow up with stakeholders/clients.

  • Basic project/program management to ensure timely responses and prioritization of customer requests.

  • Ability to build lasting rapport with physician champions internally and externally to PSJH.

  • Develop relationships within and outside PSJH for rapid, accurate response to client needs and identification of internal subject matter experts.

  • Collaborate with various PSJH departments including Cancer Institutes, Lab Medicine Institute, Regional Leadership, Ministry Leadership, Finance, Revenue Cycle, etc.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Scientific, Clinical Science, or related field.

  • Minimum of eight(8) years of experience in direct sales to biopharma and/or medical device manufacturers, preferrably in a data and analytics setting.

  • Minimum of three(3) years of experience in RFP/RFQ authoring, oversight and management.

  • Minimum of three(3) years of experience in CRM utilization and management (e.g. SalesForce, MS Dynamics, etc.)

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree in Business, Scientific, Clinical Science, or related field.

  • Minimum of three(3) years IDN or health system experience.
