Providence Health & Services Risk Finance Manager in Renton, Washington
Providence is calling a Risk Finance Manager to our location in Renton, WA or Irvine, CA.
The Manager of Risk Finance manages the daily administration and coordination of insurance programs for the legacy St. Joseph Health System (SJHS) and participates in the coordination of insurance programs administered by the Providence St. Joseph Health System (PSJH) . The position is responsible for reviewing risk and insurance provisions within legal contracts and leases, working on legacy SJHS insurance, certificates of insurance, supporting PSJH risk finance and tracking insurance policies and endorsements. The Manager is also responsible for the implementation of the insurance application and underwriting data compilation process. Duties also include f, active participation in due diligence and risk management activities.
In this position you will:
Assist with the coordination of data needed for relevant legacy SJHS and PSJH insurance programs.
Review insurance and indemnity provisions for all types of contracts leases and agreements that involve potential financial risks. Provide recommendations to reduce exposure arising from these agreements.
Respond to requests from the field regarding risk and insurance issues.
Collaborate with management in maintaining information on the performance of vendors and prepare recommendations for changes and renewals of vendor contracts as required.
Assist with the insurance application process, verifying data obtained from insured entities, compiling underwriting data for SJHS and PSJH, and reviewing final application forms prior to submission of application to the broker.
Manage claims covered by the legacy SJHS insurance program.
Participate in due diligence activities for mergers, acquisitions and newly created entities.
Prepare analysis and reports for executives, relevant legacy SJHS and PSJH Departments, local ministries, and external requestors as needed
Manage the Certificate of Insurance process to provide legacy SJHS and local ministries with appropriate proof of insurance documentation while balancing the need to protect the organization from adverse outcomes. Provide consultation to ensure that Certificates of Insurance comply with contract standards.
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or related field
Five (5) to 7 years of experience working for an insurance brokerage, insurance company, or in the Risk Management department of a large corporation
Experience relating to professional liability, general liability, property, and casualty insurance, including claims processing and policy interpretation.
Detailed understanding of the insurance brokerage community.
Working knowledge of contract law and accounting principles.
Personal computer skills, excellent analytical skills and communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and ability to manage multiple relationships and activities.
