Providence Health & Services Regional Equipment Planning Manager in Renton, Washington

Description:

Providence is calling a Regional Equipment Planning Manager to our Southgate 1 location in Renton, WA or our Providence Office Park location in Portland, OR.

Please note:

This position will sit in Renton, WA or Portland, OR due to facility location.

We are seeking a Regional Equipment Planning Manager to manage all regional capital projects including construction and move projects under the supervision of the Director of Capital Equipment Planning and Field Operations. S/he will manage the work of design consultants and construction contractors; and coordinate between clinical staff and design consultants. This position may also work with local ministry service line leadership on select, single major capital purchasing projects, replacement capital and life cycle capital requirements.

The successful incumbent demonstrates an ability to contribute to a team transforming and enhancing current processes into new, best-in-class methods on executing capital projects. The team will leverage volume & strategies to maximize the value of limited capital resources. The incumbent performs all duties in a manner that promotes Providence Mission, Core Values, and philosophy. In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Accountable for working within the capital sourcing strategy and plan.

  • Work with clinical Resource Councils, CATs, Clinical Engineers, Value Analysis & other key stakeholders on standardization of supplies and capital equipment.

  • Work under the direction of the Director of Capital Equipment Planning and Field Operations on development and implementation/management of Equipment Master Plan. Address Clinical Priorities, Budget, Schedule and Phasing, Technology Assessment, develop Overall Equipment Lifecycle Plan.

  • Work under the direction of the Director of Capital Equipment Planning and Field Operations on the development of a minor equipment sourcing plan for both acute and non-acute ministries, and lead the implementation and on-going management of the plan.

  • Work under the direction of the Director of Capital Equipment Planning and Field Operations on the development and implementation/management of appropriate strategies for equipment leasing. Include cost review of related supplies and maintenance service.

  • Work with Ministries in support of compliance related to Joint Commission, Life Safety Code, or other regulatory bodies as appropriate.

  • Contribute to equipment bid/RFP process specific to FF&E Equipment planning and the analysis of equipment bids specific to FF&E Equipment planning.

  • Contribute to the preparation of bid analysis and recommendations to clinical stakeholders on equipment purchases specific to FF&E Equipment planning.

  • Work in support of the Equipment Master Plan. Address Clinical Priorities, Budget, Schedule and Phasing, Technology Assessment, specific to FF&E Equipment planning including development of Providence standard room templates.

  • Support strategic partnerships both internally and with critical business partners.

  • Support OSCM Capital Sourcing team using strong interpersonal and communication skills to overcome resistance to use of change methodologies; advising and consulting with various senior leadership, physician, and stakeholder teams on how to perform tasks and create deliverables; support issue resolution and decision-making; and identify integration points with other projects.

  • Communicate with end users to develop operational use requirements for

  • equipment

  • Coordinate all appropriate outside consultants (facilities, capital equipment, services, vendors etc., as they relate to capital projects) to ensure timelines for service are met.

  • Work as a liaison to bridge communication between Facilities, Procurement and Support Services areas as they relate to capital equipment.

  • Develop equipment lists for hospital projects.

  • Coordinate hospital stakeholders with Construction Services to finalize and approve design specification as it relates to Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E).

  • Verify that all changes are within scope and budget constraints as states in hospital policy and procedures.

  • Communicate clearly any necessary changes or potential impact to construction timelines and budget.

  • Collaborate with Procurement Services to ensure accuracy of Purchase Orders and tracks all POs for cost and delivery status.

  • Creates and executes move-in logistics for new projects in conjunction with project manager.

  • Reconciles all project FFE budget line items with project managers to validate total project costs.

  • Travel 50-75% of the time, as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned or directed.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience

  • 2 years of capital equipment planning or construction project management sourcing experience in a healthcare setting

  • 7 years total functional level experience in supply chain management, construction planning, project management or combination therein including a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role

  • Experience creating and successfully executing strategic plans for highly complex issues

  • Business operations and/or financial management experience in a healthcare or construction setting

  • Experience standardizing complex and disparate processes

  • Experience in process improvement methodology, change management operational improvement in complex systems

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, in Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, construction or a related field

  • Experience in the formal, professional management of complex projects
