Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Project Manager, Strategic Partnerships Initiatives to our location in Renton, WA.

We are seeking a Project Manager, Strategic Partnerships Initiatives to be responsible for supporting regional teams, the Enterprise Care Management and Coordination (ECMC) team and the Population Health Management (PHM) division, in advancing key strategic initiatives and projects in support of Providence St. Joseph Health (PSJH)'s Care Management for Population Health (CM4PH) model, Medicaid Improvement plans and other key Population Health Management initiatives. The incumbent is responsible for providing strategic project management support to regional and system-wide population health initiatives, continuous performance improvement efforts and learning collaboratives focused on reducing potentially avoidable healthcare utilization and improving patient and population health outcomes.

This position fills a key role as a strategic partner to Population Health, system and regional leaders, flexibly responding to needs and enhancing the internal capability within the organization to develop and drive change, facilitate alignment and create measurable impact in communities served by Providence St. Joseph Health (PSJH).

This position will support both direct and virtual teams from concept phase through transition to operations of cross-functional and cross-regional system partnerships, initiatives and projects of varying size and complexity. The position requires superior organizational and communication skills, and an ability to organize activities and move initiatives forward in an ambiguous environment.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Lead development of ECMC and regionally chartered Population Health projects/initiatives of varying levels of complexity from planning phase through transition to operations using combination of project management, change management, facilitation, and business management expertise. Works with ECMC and regional leaders to develop and document charters, objectives and metrics, action plans, stakeholder engagement and communication plans, and monitoring systems. Ensures tracking of deliverables, objectives and outcomes for each project. Provides project status reporting to project sponsor, project team, ECMC leadership and other stakeholders as requested. Develops project-specific escalation and issue management protocols.

  • Work with ECMC leaders to outline, plan and/or deliver project management support for key projects, initiatives and deliverables of various size that directly support efforts related to COVID-19 at a regional, departmental and system level. This includes coordinating project activities within and between teams to ensure alignment, representation and effective communication to respond to ongoing changes and meet emerging needs.

  • Set up and lead multi-disciplinary work teams to deliver on key deliverables and deadlines. Ensures effective communication, training, and post-implementation support strategies are created and implemented among all stakeholder groups.

  • Responsible for positive relationship management with project team members, as well as assisting teams.

  • Proactively inform and influence others in order to maintain the balance required between business needs and other organizational constraints. Experience facilitating decision-making among multiple stakeholders with varying priorities. Provides a tailored approach to the needs of the stakeholder(s) with an eye towards ensuring solutions are both sustainable and scalable.

  • Engage stakeholders in solving problems of varying complexity, strategic priority and visibility. Utilizes change management and performance improvement tools. Builds awareness and commitment to the change effort and leads the ongoing communications and alignment of stakeholders throughout the process.

  • Identify, gather, and analyze all pertinent data, research and/or information necessary to help make recommendations, inform decisions and accomplish project goals. Processes information quickly and can translate and communicate clearly to a variety of audiences.

  • Assists with coordinating and compiling routine reporting to meet division and system reporting deadlines

  • Assists in the development of key deliverables, as needed.

  • Conducts post-initiative assessments and makes recommendations for improvement based on those assessments.

  • Stay aligned with and shares best practices with other members of the ECMC team as a way of improving upon the collective development of team members.

  • Perform other duties and special projects as required and assigned.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Public Health, Public Administration, Social Work or related discipline or equivalent experience.

  • 4 years of previous project management, consulting, health planning, and/or business analysis experience.

  • Experience in managing virtual teams.

  • 2 years of experience in healthcare operations for an understanding of the nature of the work performed.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Public Health, Public Administration, Social Work or related discipline or equivalent education/experience.

  • Change management, facilitation, and process improvement methodologies with substantial project management experience of complex, multi-regional, strategically important initiatives.

  • Certified Project Management Professional.
