Providence Health & Services Principal Hardware Asset Management Analyst in Renton, Washington
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Principal Hardware Asset Management Analyst - Information Services to sit in any of our office location in Renton, WA, Portland, OR or Irvine, CA.
We are seeking a Principal Hardware Asset Management Analyst - Information Services to provide expertise about CMDB (configuration management database) and hardware asset management best practices. He/She is accountable for maintaining the integrity of the enterprise CMDB within the ServiceNow application.
As principal, oversees the data in the CMDB, reviewing the data for quality and completeness and working with CI class owners to ensure they are managing their data appropriately. The principal supports the infrastructure of the CMDB by creating new classes, models, and vendors as necessary. The principal is an expert in the ServiceNow Asset and CMDB modules and assists in identification and troubleshooting of CMDB/asset problems, escalating as necessary. In addition, the principal validates ServiceNow enhancement requests and maintains the ServiceNow Hardware Product Catalog.
The principal maintains ServiceNow training documentation and all CMDB/hardware asset management SOPs. Additionally, the principal maintains the enterprise Hardware Standards List and actively participates in and may lead the CMDB/Asset Management Workgroup meetings. The principal also participates in Hardware Asset Management roadmap planning and determining key strategies for the department to support TEO top initiatives, the IS Strategic Plan, and Health 2.0. Enterprise accountabilities include: defining business requirements for asset/CMDB, and staying abreast of industry best practices in hardware asset management and any potential impact to the organization.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Provide subject matter expertise for the ServiceNow CMDB and Asset modules.
Work with IS leadership, CI Class Owners and ServiceNow application team to recommend enhancements/optimizations to the ServiceNow CMDB and Asset modules.
Work with IS leadership, ServiceNow governance and various end users/groups to recommend enhancements/optimizations to the ServiceNow Product Catalog and workflows associated with the catalog.
Provide input into improving HAM information reporting and metrics.
Establish HAM processes and procedures.
Provide technical guidance to ensure that HAM systems are working effectively and that proposed systems will meet organization’s future needs.
Provide guidance for large-scale projects on asset management processes. (how to do large-scale manual asset uploads).
Create and maintain internal training materials to provide training to appropriate information systems staff for procedures, processes and knowledge transfer.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, Business, IS Asset Management Or equivalent educ/experience.
8 years of HAM (Hardware Asset Management) related experience with a Bachelor's degree OR 10 years of HAM related experience with an Associate's degree OR 12 years of HAM experience with a high school diploma.
Ability to analyze information gathered by investigation, and report findings and recommendations.
Comprehensive knowledge of industry best practices in support of developing policies and processes related to all areas of hardware asset management.
Must have broad CMDB knowledge and experience, with an understanding how the CMDB is the foundation of our ITSM tool and is related to most areas within IS.
Experience supporting and organizing periodic hardware asset audits in a large organization with diverse geographic locations.
Understands the value of and need for having Hardware Standards and established vendors in order to support the stewardship goals of the organization through ease of support and bulk purchasing.
Familiarity with current hardware technology and classifications, particularly those used at Providence St Joseph Health.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master’s degree Computer Science or Business.
Working knowledge of desktop software applications (e.g. MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Internet, E-mail).
