Providence Health & Services Operations Center Technician in Renton, Washington


Providence St. Joseph Health is calling an Operations Center Technician to our location in Renton, WA.

We are seeking an Operations Center Tech to provide 24x7 Situational Awareness and incident response through monitoring and support of the network, servers, applications and interfaces and coordinates all information technology related Major Events across the enterprise. In addition they are responsible for ensuring backups are successful and media recovery processes are adhered to. Customer Service: Responsible for excellent customer service delivery and satisfaction, management and achievement of operating level agreements. Remain calm and professional under pressure, and major events that impact the customers. Provides customer communication and status updates, and minimizes unexpected interruptions in service. Triages issues, identifies the root cause and assigns problems to the correct team or service group once escalated.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Providing tier 1 support capabilities for operational teams 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Following standard operating procedures and training documentation, perform detailed workflows that are time sensitive and highly specific.

  • Adding / Modifying Infoblox DNS Records.

  • Responds and initiates to major incident at the direction of Incident Commander. Drafts and sends MI communications.

  • Able to understand and write simple scripts in PowerShell, perl, vbs, python or other modern / object oriented scripting language

  • Basic understanding of LAN, UDP/TCP, ports and services, Nets/Subnets/Routing. Basic network gear configuration experience. Familiarity with one or more of the following: Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto devices.

  • Strong user skills in desktop OS; Basic admin experience with PSJH server and desktop OS. Basic experience using vSphere, XenCenter.

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Business Management, or Information Services or equivalent educ/experience

  • 3 years Information Services technical leadership experience in leading IS infrastructure operations teams
