Providence Health & Services Manager, Revenue Cycle Systems Support in Renton, Washington


Providence is calling a Manager, Revenue Cycle Systems Support to our location in Portland, Renton, Seattle or Southern CA.

The leader in this position within the Revenue Cycle Strategy and Innovation pillar has oversight responsibilities for Revenue Cycle technology functions across PSJH including business analysis, EDI support services, production support, development of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and other automation tools. This leader will have opportunities to work directly with our internal block chain company and Information Systems teams and learn more about advanced technologies. He/she is accountable for organizing, directing and evaluating the resources, technical and/or applications systems and services needed to support PSJH Revenue Cycle. The Revenue Cycle Technology team provides support for Epic, Meditech, and selected 3 rd party applications by closely partnering with Information Services (IS) to ensure critical Revenue Cycle systems are meeting our service level agreements (SLAs) and overall business needs. He/she ensures 3rd party applications, products, and technology vendors are selected and in place, delivering services that streamline and automate manual processes. The Manager participates in development of the Revenue Cycle technology strategy and roadmap and assists business and operational leaders with the IS Intake process. The incumbent performs all duties in a manner that promotes Providence mission, values, and philosophy. In all aspects, he/she serves as a role model for the values and mission of the organization."

In this position you will:

  • Lead a virtual team of 17 geographically dispersed staff. Provide leadership needed to implement Revenue Cycle technology strategy and operational initiatives including directing new and upgraded business systems implementations.

  • Optimize the use of automation and EDI across the revenue cycle and ensure processes are in place for automated claims tracing and tracking.

  • Ensure service and operating level agreements are met for system availability and reliability; system security; timely and accurate turn-around of business required production tasks; timely and effective support of revenue cycle systems and applications.

  • Ensure the efficiency, effectiveness, availability, reliability, and security of interfaces related to revenue cycle processes. Manage or collaborate with vendors to support systems or processes within the Revenue Cycle scope (e.g. claims clearinghouse vendor, scanning vendor, insurance eligibility and address verification vendor, and other vendors that are critical to revenue cycle).

  • Manage and execute plans relating to business continuity; ensuring business risks are minimized appropriately.

  • Ensure the identification, documentation, resolution and escalation of major issues and systems or data transfer related compliance failures.

  • Partner effectively with revenue cycle leadership and key stakeholders on system support initiatives impacting operations both now and in the future.

  • Recommend and present implement strategies for improving operational, financial, technical, and compliance performance of revenue cycle systems and applications; providing impact assessments on changes to revenue cycle leadership.

  • As a result of improvement initiatives: recommend, implement and communicate.

  • Provide input to capital budget needs for Revenue Cycle systems and applications.

  • Direct the design, testing and implementation of improvements to revenue cycle systems.

  • Implement, analyze and report on key performance indicators and other metrics for tracking and managing the performance of systems support.

  • Develop and maintain a high performance team delivering the revenue cycle vision for systems support by ensuring staffing levels and level of talent are adequate to meet business outcomes and goals.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.

  • 10 years A minimum of ten (10) years of finance and/or revenue cycle experience in a multi-facility integrated healthcare system.

  • Five (5) or more years in a management/leadership role in a system support or IT function in a matrix organization with proven executive level relationship management experience.
