Providence Manager, HR Consulting PSJH in Renton, Washington
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Manager, HR Consulting PSJH. This role is 100% remote. Candidates may reside in Alaska, Washington, Montana, Oregon, California or Texas.
We are seeking a Manager, HR Consulting PSJH to oversee broad aspects of our HR Consulting model and serves as a subject matter expert to Service Area CHROs and other HR Consulting peers (CGR Manager, Labor Consultants) who face complex employee relations matters where expert knowledge and assistance are needed. The Manager develops and implements proactive people strategies that support the System and Regional workforce strategies, goals and objectives while ensuring compliance with federal, state and local employment related laws.
The incumbent is responsible for identifying and assessing situations for compliance and policy concerns and making recommendations for resolution. In addition, the HR Consulting Manager supports Labor and Employment Counsel in the investigation of legal matters, recommending and promoting consistent and best practice approaches to positive employee and labor relations, adherence to HR policies, compliance with regulatory and policy requirements and standards, investigations, review and oversight on Reductions in Force, and project work. Additional areas of accountability include oversight on HR Consulting work product, performance management consultations, identifying trends and patterns and need for critical intervention, labor relations research, dispute alternatives and policy development, effective record keeping, and data integrity. Provide SME expertise and appropriate competency-based systems to support appropriate process and protocol in adherence to retaliatory requirements to include Federal and State employment, OSHA and other healthcare-related agency requirements.
In this position you will:
Key Areas of Focus:
Providing supervision on advanced consulting skills in employee and labor relations interactions and activities.
Providing guidance for resolution of caregiver grievances/concerns, investigations, assisting Caregiver Relations and Field HR Leadership with responses to high-level grievances/dispute resolution as well as elevating complex or high risk issues.
Serve as a strategic consultant to Senior HR Leadership on complex employee and labor relations matters where content and subject-matter expertise is needed.
Oversee support to labor and employment counsel (both internal and external, in investigating and researching claims, responding to information requests/document production, deposition support, preparation for mediation, arbitration and unfair labor practice charges.
Work collaboratively with CHRO and Caregiver Relations team to manage risk and provide consistency in the administration and delivery of HR services (Risk Management, regulatory bodies, EEOC, state and municipal agencies -- ADA/LOA, Wage & Hour, Wrongful Discharge).
Serve as HR interface with advocacy and CHROs regarding employment-related local and state legislative initiatives.
Serve as System subject matter expert in major process or protocol programs (DFW, RIF, Independent Contractor, etc.) and oversees/consults on program development, implementation and changes.
Mentor HR Consultants, Caregiver Relations Consultants and Principal HR Consultants, sharing skill, expertise and experiences providing subject matter expertise to HR Consulting as a whole.
Review and makes recommendations on investigation protocols, documentation and reports.
Oversee and manage the workload and work assignments of the HR Consultants.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field or 4 years additional experience in lieu of education
8 years experience in general human resources or equivalent work experience, at exempt level in multi-state/location, service lines of business
8 years demonstrated experience in the areas of Employee Relations, Labor Relations, ADAAA, and leaves of absence
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field
HR Certification (SHRM-SCP or SPHR)
5 years Project Management Experience
5 years experience in the specialty areas of Drug Free Workplace, Compliance, Performance Management, ADA/LOA
5 years Supervision of Human Resources staff or equivalent work experience
