Providence Executive Director, Business Process Transformation in Renton, Washington



The Executive Director - Process Transformation is accountable for the transformation and modernization of key enterprise processes and infrastructure. The Exec Director will lead the design, implementation and operations of a business transformation, change management, comms strategy, and vendor relationship management plans across a variety of strategic initiatives (including but not limited to Management Reporting, ERP etc.). The result of the plan will substantially impact the experience and productivity of every caregiver within PSJH. In addition, the ED will be accountable for managing multiple vendor contracts and utilization of internal IS and other resources of >$30M

The Executive Director of Process Transformation will be accountable for managing an extended team of up to 20-30 internal/external caregivers including governance rhythm of business at three levels of the organization: Executive, Program Level, Operations level

The Executive Director is consider a critical senior leader in PSJH's Transformation initiatives and will be responsible for several critical programs: transformation & modernization plan, change management plan, comms plan, governance structure, rhythm, and vendor management. This program will receive cross industry and national media attention, and it will most likely set a standard for other healthcare systems to follow.


The Executive Director, Process Transformation will have the following accountabilities:

  • Financials : ensure the strategic use of over $30M in spend for strategic and ongoing investment into management reporting solutions

  • Leadership: lead a team of internal and external caregivers of up to 30 people in delivering mission critical projects related but not limited to ERP business processes, management reporting, partnership RFPs, etc.. Manage the engagement and interaction of PSJH executive leadership across operating, technical, and vendor teams

  • Mission Formation: oversee, in partnership with the Mission Team, the creation of a Vendor mission formation program. Expectation is that new business partners will ensure that all offshore caregivers and leaders participate in the mission program. Ensures that any significant changes follow the PSJH discernment process to ensure mission vision and value alignment with the organization.

  • Transformation Plan: lead the design and implementation of a PSJH transformation plan that will fundamentally change and modernize how Finance, Accounting, HR, and Supply Chain operate, fundamentally changing how caregivers work and experience PSJH. This plan will also require a sophisticated and complex change management and communications plan (internal stakeholders and external stakeholders)

  • Governance: oversee the design and implementation of a governance plan covering three layers of PSJH's organization: Executive level (senior level alignment on direction, future investments and potential issues needed resolution), Imagine Program Level (contractual obligations and performance, change orders, organization alignment and change issues), Operational Level (ensuring PSJH core leaders and functional leaders are operationally aligned with the change, transformation, and alignment with our new business partners)

  • Change and Communications Management: oversee the design and implementation of a complex and sophisticated change management and comms plan impacting the following key stakeholders: Executive SteerCo, PSJH Board, all leaders across PSJH, approximately 10K shared services caregivers, local communities and the Healthcare Industry



Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, Technology or a related field.

  • More than 10 years’ experience in leading large scale and complex program and project indicatives

  • More than 10 years’ experience in demonstrating the ability to lead leaders resulting in the implementation of large impactful programs

  • More than 10 years’ experience of demonstrated direct or indirect leadership of senior level managers and leaders

  • Demonstrated Program and Project Management leadership skills

  • Effective senior level communications and executive engagement and facilitation skills

  • Working with all layers within an organization with the ability to connect directly with Caregivers up to Executive Board Members

  • Financial management and/or savings tracking capabilities

  • Must be able to understand how to navigate PSJH culture

  • Must be able to understand key stakeholders and how to facilitate alignment and issue resolution

  • Ability to hold business partners accountable for contractual obligations

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, Technology or a related field, or equivalent educ/experience

  • 5 years of experience in deploying and managing progressively impactful business programs
