Providence Director, IS ERP Applications PSJH in Renton, Washington

Description:

Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Director, IS ERP Applications PSJH to our location in Renton, WA.

In this position you will:

STRATEGIC:

  • Maintains relationships with key business partners and other senior leaders in the IT industry in order to leverage best practices, evaluate and manage emerging application technologies.

  • Directs adoption process for introducing and implementing new services, technologies, and/or application into information services.

  • Implements appropriate service delivery models for core application functions in defining, delivering, and improving services for the enterprise and its customers.

  • Responsible for working with leaders of IS strategy and business development in ensuring adherence to standards and continuously evaluating the effectively of application systems.

  • Ensures that the applications division supports IS services and systems effectively and meets the needs of the business.

  • Participates in the development of the overall IS strategic plan by identifying needed application management strategies and projects that support business needs.

  • Manage customer expectations regarding the success of each information services strategies and projects; ensure measurable outcomes are defined and reported for each strategy or project.

  • Partner with key stakeholders and customers to implement application services for strategic initiatives that are effective, user-friendly and accurate.

MANAGEMENT:

  • Develops and negotiates preferred information technology vendor contracts and manages key vendor relationships.

  • Ensures the performance of applications within their domain and evaluates the performance of services on the basis of specific KPIs.

  • Oversees budgeting and expenditures for applications, staff, and services within their span of control.

  • Assists in the development of and monitors compliance with policies and procedures for application services that impact all of Providence St. Joseph Health.

  • Attracts, hires, trains, motivates, retains, and develops a team of first-rate professionals to perform the responsibilities of application management.

  • Designs, implements, maintains, and operates departmental service level agreements, operating level agreements, and associated KPIs.

  • Demonstrates ability to coordinate and facilitate teamwork with multidisciplinary group, building and reaching consensus, agreeing upon a course of action where there are multiple perspectives.

  • Demonstrates outstanding organizational skills, as well as the ability to manage shifting priorities.

OPERATIONAL:

  • Develops budgets and the expenditures for IS related to applications in partnership with other leaders and the PMO.

  • Escalates critical issues, problems, or delays in production, projects, or any other issues that have an impact on the customer.

  • Actively participates in optimizing processes and leads initiatives to improve service delivery, increase value, and promote customer service.

  • Maintains the delivery of secure, reliable, and scalable applications and process that support the growth and financial objectives of Providence St. Joseph Health.

  • Teams with the business and other IS disciplines to develop and maintain appropriate disaster recovery architecture, projects, and policies and participates in disaster drills for applications.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management information systems, accounting, computer science, or related;

  • 10 years of experience as a Project/Delivery Manager, Analyst, Consultant, or related;

  • 10 years of experience creating and successfully executing strategic plans for highly complex issues; experience standardizing complex and disparate projects; methodologies related to application management such as system deployment, support, and life cycle; and experience in process improvement methodology, change management, and operational improvement in complex systems;

  • 10 years of ERP experience, including leading information services teams in two or more of the following applications and business processes: ERP finance applications (general ledger, billing accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset management and expense reimbursement, intercompany accounting and revenue management); enterprise financial performance applications (financial consolidation, planning & budgeting, health care analytics and costing); and/or project management applications (project accounting and management, project costing and billing, grants and lease management). ERP experience must also include business process integration of finance applications with supply chain applications (e.g. contract management, sourcing, purchasing, supplier/vendor management, pricing, inventory);

  • Past experience must include large scale business transformation and ERP system implementation projects with scope spanning multiple regions and/or geographies and business process areas; and

  • 3 years of EPM experience, including three or more of the following areas of demonstrated competency/expertise:

  • Hyperion enterprise performance management suite;

  • ETL design and development (Informatica or ODI);

  • Hyperion profitability and cost management (HPCM) management;

  • Hyperion planning and budgeting;

  • Hyperion financial management;

  • Oracle planning and budgeting cloud service;

  • Oracle data relationship management (DRM) and financial data;

  • Management enterprise edition (FDMEE) and EPMA;

  • Oracle Business Intelligence enterprise edition (OBIEE);

  • Essbase (ASO & BSO) cube analysis, design, and maintenance;

  • Essbase database administration, upgrades, performance tuning, and optimization;

  • Oracle or MS SQL server databases;

  • Star schemas/dimensional modeling; and/or

  • Performance optimization.

  • Experience may be gained concurrently.
