Providence Health & Services Director, Corporate and Foundations Relations in Renton, Washington



The Director for Corporate and Foundation Relations will serve in a senior fundraising role and be responsible for creating, implementing, and growing a comprehensive philanthropic corporate and foundations program for PSJH. This leader will develop the strategy for growing our philanthropic opportunities through federal, state, local, corporate, and private grant funders to support system-wide initiatives as well as regional opportunities for increased fundraising at PSJH. This individual will also have primary responsibility and accountability for the strategic coordination of all grants for the Providence St. Joseph Health Foundation.

The Director for Corporate and Foundation Relations will:

  • Be able to successfully manage a multi-unit, complex, environment, resulting in significantly improved fundraising performance and growth.

  • Be able to successfully solicit major (in excess of $50,000 up to multi-million dollar) gifts from corporations and foundations. This includes developing the strategy required for such activities as well as designing and executing the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors for these efforts.

  • Be a highly motivated self-starter and entrepreneurial team player with a commitment and passion for the mission of PSJH.

  • Have superb communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to articulate the vision, and case for support for various fundraising efforts at PSJH.

  • Have experience in grant writing and stewardship of grant funding once acquired.



Required qualifications and experience for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education/experience.

  • At least 5 years of experience in fundraising through grants, foundations and/or corporations.

  • Excellent grant writing and editing skills.

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.

  • Demonstrated written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated customer service skills.

  • Success in developing and delivering effective presentations.

  • A thorough knowledge of system-wide programs, services and executive leadership roles.

  • A seasoned, extensive knowledge of various funding opportunities for PSJH, as well as the skills and ability to plan, prioritize, complete complex assignments in a quality manner; and the ability to interact with a wide range of individuals and groups throughout the organization and with external partners to build cases for support.

  • The ability to work with many different leaders throughout the organization – executives, board members, physicians, researchers and staff members.
