Providence is calling a Data Science Strategist, Product Management and Advanced Analytics – PSJH to Providence Health & Services in either of the following locations: Renton, WA or Portland OR.
We are seeking a Data Science Strategist, Product Management and Advanced Analytics – PSJH who has an aptitude for data-driven product design, business acumen and understanding of customer needs to provide strong analytical and leadership expertise for advanced strategic projects supporting the Providence system. This includes implementing state of the art data science technologies/methodologies to develop software products addressing key points across the organization. The Data Science Strategist will create databases, conduct appropriate analyses and present data and information in an innovative format for interpretation by organizational leaders. He/she is capable of performing technology scans to identify relevant analytical applications to empower innovative digital health products and collaborate with product managers and designers to develop prototypes. The Data Scientist Strategist oversees and is involved in investigative design, data collection, performing statistical analysis of data, interpreting results, verifying data accuracy, and preparing final reports using computer graphics and word processing software.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Analyze new venture opportunities and help identify and prioritize near and long term goals for product group leveraging healthcare data and advanced analytics. Communicate ways in which new products and tools can improve clinical outcomes, operational performance, Patient and Caregiver experiences.
Present findings to the business by exposing their assumptions and validation work in a way that can be easily understood by their business counterparts. Act as a liaison for other departments, divisions, and organizations, as needed
Work with large healthcare datasets to provide complex data extracts, programming, and analytical modeling capabilities in support of the team’s services to internal and external clients. Set up model and conduct analyses using Excel and SPSS. Additional tools may include MatLab, MapReduce, JMP, SAP BI, IBM Cognos, R, SAS, Minitab.
Use creativity to solve data and analytical problems for the organization. Validating findings using an experimental and iterative approach.
Create appropriate databases from multiple data sources including the electronic medical record, as well as survey, patient-entered data, hospital, and health plan data
Support defining report metrics for HI product portfolio and conduct A/B tests on product variants to drive product design and prioritization of key features.
Track and optimize key metrics including cost per acquisition, customer lifetime value, etc.
Exceptional interpersonal skills. Capability to gain the confidence and respect of senior executives and teams members without needing to be hand-held or requiring supervision.
Understand pain points, Articulate opportunity, collaborate across disciplinary teams to design the right strategic solutions, win business, execute projects, manage internal relationships to best serve the client.
Solving, proposing and closing client business challenges with agency solutions.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering or Science.
7 years Experience leveraging advanced data analytics to develop innovative software solutions.
Experienced with latest Data Science technologies/methodologies/tools
Entrepreneurial and self-directed work style; flexible, highly initiative and comfortable with ambiguity.
Work under pressure with minimal supervision complying with time restrictions and deadlines
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Math, Business, Science, Engineering.
2 years Delivering healthcare and/or digital health solutions.
2 years Startup or equivalent experience.
