Providence Health & Services Data Engineer in Renton, Washington
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Data Engineer to our location in Renton, WA.
As a member of the Population Health Informatics team, the Data Engineer will ingest and transform strategically important population health data in our Azure cloud environment. The Data Engineer will develop de-duplication, normalization and source/target mapping scripts to integrate data from payers, provider systems and third parties. He or she will assist in database design and algorithm improvement (e.g. patient matching algorithms). The Data Engineer will continuously improve the ETL (Extract, Load, Transform) processes and modify them as the source data changes and business needs evolve. The Data Engineer will work in a modern data environment in the cloud using Azure Data Factory, SQL Server, Snowflake, python, Scala and other products and tools. In this position you will:
ETL development processes and best practices using tools like Databricks, Attunity or Informatica PowerCenter
Advanced SQL skills including stored procedures, triggers and advanced functions
Strong knowledge of relational database design principles; performance tuning, indexing and compression, transaction management and partitioning
Programming skills in python, Scala, C#, .NET, or UNIX shell
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field
3 years ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), software development or data management skills
2 years advanced SQL, python, or Scala coding skills
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
2 years experience working in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure or Good Cloud)
2 years Healthcare data experience with payer eligibility and claims
