Providence Communications Specialist, Mother Joseph Province in Renton, Washington
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Communications Specialist, Mother Joseph Province to our location in Renton, WA.
We are seeking a Communications Specialist, Mother Joseph Province who will be responsible for developing and coordinating the communication of the Providence Mission as lived out in Mother Joseph Province, in ministries and religious life, to various publics, to the media, to the Sisters of the Province and to the congregation-at-large.
The position performs all duties in a manner that promotes the Sisters of Providence mission, values, and philosophy to serve the poor and marginalized and seek ways to support peace, justice, and environmental sustainability. In all aspects, the position serves as a role model for the values and mission of the organization. Essential to this position is maintaining confidential information.
Staff members of Provincial Administration are employees of Providence Health System.
In this position you will:
Write and produce Mother Joseph Providence print newsletter distributed internally and externally to an audience of approximately 3,500.
Collaborate with the Vocation Team to produce printed materials, including brochures, calendars, bookmarks, flyers, advertisements and event displays, as well as online promotion, to encourage women to explore religious life with Sisters of Providence.
Develop relationships with Catholic and other relevant news media and responds to their requests. Writes news releases about Jubilee celebrations, ministries, issues statements, awards and recognitions, sister entrances and vows, and equivalent.
Serve as administrator for the Mother Joseph Province website. Post regular updates. Respond to all inquiries received through the website.
Create content for and post regularly to social media (Facebook, Twitter) and collaborate with a member of the Mother Joseph Province Religious Community who manages Instagram.
Produce sponsor and promotional advertisements for special events.
Prepare content for partner publications as needed (Providence International publications, Women of Providence in Collaboration newsletter, etc.).
Create online content for Sisters of Providence special recognition days.
Collaborate with Jubilarian Sisters and event team to produce Jubilee event materials, including invitations, thank-you notes, storybooks, program, and equivalent.
Collaborate with the Provincial Secretary in preparing written communications and materials related to the death of a Sister.
Write appeal letters for semi-annual fundraising campaigns.
Coordinate Mother Joseph Province photography needs with Provincial Administration photographer. Take photos as needed. Collaborate with the Mother Joseph Province Archives team and others to share access to digital photos.
Engage with the communications teams of Providence Health System, Providence-sponsored and intercommunity ministries, Women of Providence in Collaboration, and other affiliates of the Sisters of Providence.
Assist in special projects and reports as needed.
Required qualification for this position include:
Bachelor’s Degree in communications, public relations, or a related field
Four years of professional experience in communications, public relations or development
Software experience with WordPress or equivalent.
Preferred qualification for this position include:
- Four years of professional experience in non-profit or religious community settings
