Providence Health & Services Business Process Engineer in Renton, Washington
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Business Process Engineer to our location in Renton, WA.
We are seeking a Business Process Engineer to serve as the Senior Six Sigma leader for the deployment of effective process improvement, process documentation and change management in Supply Chain for Providence Health and Services. The individual will use process improvement tools including 5S, Six Sigma, CAP, Work-Out and Lean to achieve annual operational improvement targets. The individual will also work with Senior Directors to evaluate strategies, business processes, objectives and policies, and tools to ensure that Supply Chain delivers a superior customer experience, both internally and externally.
In this position you will:
Evaluate business strategies, processes, policies, and objectives to ensure that Engineering and Hospitality Services achieves superior customer experience while focusing on innovation and continuous improvement
Ensures high levels of patient satisfaction by reinforcing a culture of excellence
Must be able to evaluate and find ways to improve cost control and coordination of services
Must be able to prepare and present a gap analysis with a process assessment and suggestions for improvement
Uses metrics and moderately complex data analysis to identify organization opportunities
Assist peers and leadership in maintaining a fiscally sound enterprise that generates financial returns at targeted levels through effective business practices
Possesses capabilities in implementing and driving cost reduction strategies, new process designs and other ad-hoc projects
Supports the success of the enterprise by effectively contributing to and utilizing national strategies and capabilities, actively sharing new learning and innovation, and by assuring business practices are consistent with Providence Health and Services business fundamentals
Generates practical, sustainable, consistent, and creative options to solve complex problems while maximizing existing resources
Tracks and communicates project performance on qualitative and quantitative measures
Solicit, validate and systematize process documentation
Develops Process "Blueprints" for the Resource Engineering and Hospitality Group through site observation and documentation
A desire to learn new skills and drive changes in a positive spirit of cooperation and collaboration
Implements process improvements at multiple sites using an approved methodology
Keeps informed of industry changes and best practices and communicates the potential impact on organizational processes
Required qualifications for this position include:
BS degree in industrial engineering or similar field
Experience with an analytic software or business analytics tool
Experience in implementing or administering a process improvement program
Experience in managing a budget
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
5 years of experience working as a business process engineer in an integrated health care delivery system or a supply chain organization
Experience in administering a scientific problem-solving methodology such as DMAIC, or KATA is preferred
Experience maximizing organization capacity is preferred
Advanced computer skills are required (Microsoft Office)
Must be able to build and maintain productive relationships with peers and cross-functional teams
A clear understanding of financial measurements which would include: return on investment, weeks on hand, weeks of supply, etc., and implementation of the same is preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities for this position include:
Knowledge and application of Lean Six Sigma principles and techniques
Ability to prepare and execute a project plan
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Effective at leading project teams and interfacing with a diverse group; corporate operations, corporate IT, operations, customers, management, etc.
Fully competent in the use of computer software- Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint.
Ability to use Microsoft Access a plus
Must possess and demonstrate motivational and leadership qualities
Must be able to assist in developing functional and individual performance metrics
Strong project management skills, including the ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Must have strong interpersonal skills and the capability to work cross-functionally with other individuals, groups and organizations
Ability to combine aggressive initiative with professional discipline and the ability to accomplish difficult tasks through other people
Works to understand complex functional situations by paying attention to the details of the tasks at hand and by breaking them down into smaller pieces
Provides thought leadership and strategic thinking, with a clear vision and understanding of change management
Must have a passion for operational excellence methodologies, including Six Sigma and 5S
Proactively develops and maintains a broad knowledge of the technical disciplines in own functional area; applies extensive knowledge of trends and best practices in a manner that ensures exceptional performance and results
Uses deep subject matter/functional expertise, influence and process skills to help internal/external customers and stakeholders identify and meet their high priority needs while considering cultural and diversity implications
Encourages informed Risk-taking and acts as a catalyst for innovation; generates practical, sustainable and creative options to solve problems and create business opportunities, while maximizing existing resources
