Providence Health & Services Business Analyst – Performance Management in Renton, Washington
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Business Analyst - Performance Management to our location in Renton, WA.
Within the Resource, Engineering and Hospitality Group, the Business Analyst – Performance Management will play a key role in critical decision-making processes that affect many business units across Providence St Joseph Health by identifying, monitoring, and reducing uncontrolled variation in resource consumption.
The Business Analyst – Performance Management is responsible to build and deliver analytical products that provide actionable insights and drive performance improvement across multiple functions. You collaborate with teams across the Resource, Engineering and Hospitality (REH) group to include data visualization, data architecture, decision support, and product management to solve complex problems in a highly ambiguous and rapidly evolving environment. In this high-profile role, you will support leaders across multiple functions and locations throughout PSJH in identifying and developing a portfolio of operational dashboards, ad-hoc reports, cubes and self-service reporting solutions that are clear, concise and actionable.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Build user-oriented dashboards and meaningful, actionable data visualizations to help identify and resolve pain points that meet the needs of the organization
Meet cross-functional technical and non-technical teams to understand data needs, define user stories & problem statements, collect data, document schemas & report requirements, and write specifications
Present all data insights and findings in clear and creative ways using data visualizations for a broad audience, including all levels of leadership, technology, business and finance
Perform deep-dive analyses to answer complex questions and deliver insights on the root causes of issues and make recommendations on how to best monitor and meet them
Thought leadership on various tools, applications, and/or queries to create and configure reports and dashboards
Lead deep dive of complex datasets and problems across multiple functions to identify actionable insights and recommendations
Drive highest data accuracy and quality standards across the analytics team by working with data systems, architecture, tooling and process teams to triage data-quality issues and drive long term improvement
Provides weekly, monthly, and annual business performance reports (e.g. reports on performance against: budget, consumption, compliance, conversion, utilization, KPIs, etc.).
Provides special reports and analyses to support the business as necessary
Work in close partnership with senior executives (VP, Executive Director, Regional Exec, etc.) across PSJH to identify, monitor, and report uncontrolled variation in resource consumption to support their efforts to achieve committed targets in respect to savings, adoption of new business initiatives, and identified performance outcomes
Identifies appropriate sources of data, incorporating data from various sources into individual reports as needed
Assists in selecting, implementing, and supporting data analysis tools.
Program and project management duties

Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree in an analytical field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics) from a top university or accredited college required, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 3 year’s demonstrated experience with Enterprise Strategic Planning and Project Management for large enterprises, preferably health care related.
Minimum 5 year’s demonstrated experience in leading cross functional teams to design innovative business processes and services.
3 years of experiences in solving complex business problems with data-driven solutions and data analysis using modern analytical tools
3 years of hands-on experience developing user-oriented dashboards and reports with actionable insights and data visualizations by using a variety of analytical software packages and platforms.
Familiarity with supply chain, cost modeling, procurement, and other business functions within the healthcare industry
