Providence Health & Services Associate Vice President, Acute Care Clinical Performance Group in Renton, Washington



The Associate Vice President will provide executive guidance and leadership to the activities of the enterprise Acute Care (AC) Clinical Performance Group (CPG). The AVP/AC is accountable for assessing, planning, developing and implementing strategies and tactics to achieve clinical standardization in resource use, evidence based or consensus based best practices and innovation across the scale of the enterprise. The AVP/AC must have expertise to lead organizational strategy with the result of implementation of the CPG. The AVP must develop and execute clinical business plans, and a CPG development model, including operational strategies that respond to unique market factors such as size, demographics, competitor knowledge, brand and targeted patient expectations. This leader is expected to be an innovator who has demonstrated ability to create a strategic plans and communicate it throughout the enterprise. The AVP/AC must have proven skills of a matrix organization leader to be successful in the creation and spread of this work. This role requires a working knowledge of patient care and experience working with clinicians, preferably in service line leadership. These responsibilities span the Providence St. Joseph Health (PSJH) facilities throughout all regions. The position is located in Renton, WA.

In this position you will:

  • Provide, leadership, direction and support in the development and organization of the AC CPG as well as driving to the desired outcomes across the enterprise.

  • Lead and improve organizational capabilities to optimize AC clinical care, build enterprise teams of physicians and executives, and directs CPS management to develop cost, utilization, and technology/research goals and objectives for the performance group.

  • Participate in development of advanced clinical and financial plans and products as needed.

  • Define performance standards, metrics and action plans that can be tracked against timelines and evaluated against organization performance.

  • Actively cultivates technology and research data for the CPG to assess, adopt and review regional requests as needed.

  • Be responsible for communication of AC CPG output, results and implementation of best practices to leadership, CPS teams.

  • Be responsible for the development and implementation of the CPG outcomes and lead the organization through transition process to adoption.

  • Partner with other divisions to assure that needed expertise is available from across the enterprise.

  • Ensure the effective use of resources (including physician time) by building strong relationships and definable work with system and regional leadership.

  • Provide consultation to regions, as needed, e.g. physician engagement, organization structures, use of data and analytics, new models of care, etc.

  • Master’s degree or equivalent strongly preferred.

  • 7-10 years’ work experience in healthcare required or a comparable background with significant clinical/program leadership experience. Highlights:
