The Clinical Manager serves as the manager of a clinical program and provides staff supervision and coordination for the care provided to patients and their families. This position is responsible for identifying 'best practices' for care. They may also network with community resources and consult with community health care providers.

In this position you will:

  • Provide clinical oversight to interdisciplinary team members for designated team with the support of a discipline supervisor as required for discipline-specific input.

  • Triage patient’s needs and lead staff in clinical problem-solving as needed; assign clinicians to patients.

  • Identify staffing and staff development needs; work with Director of Clinical Services and/or Executive Director for staffing approval or otherwise address and resolve issues.

  • Hire, schedule and manage the performance of the assigned team, including nurses and nurse aides.

  • Facilitate team meetings.

  • Integrate input of team meetings when making clinical or administrative decisions.

  • Ensure regulatory compliance for assigned Care team; participate in development of policies and procedures to ensure compliance in accordance with standard PMW procedures, Medicare Conditions of Participation and other regulatory agencies to include Centers for Medicare services with completion of the Minimum Data Set.

  • Responsible for understanding patients’ insurance benefits and managing care in a cost effective manner; and approve expenses for care.

  • Identify trends within team’s provision of care as well as recurring issues for particular disciplines; integrate and introduce new processes and procedures in partnership with appropriate staff.

  • Participate as a member of various management & leadership team meetings and share rotating responsibility for “Manager on Duty” support.

  • May network with community agencies to build relationships with referral and care sources and coordinate optimum care for patients and their families.

  • May participate in strategic planning for the ministry; establish team priorities, plans an annual budget; develop and revise policies and procedures for the team in keeping with standard PMW procedures.

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, or related field

  • Current Washington State applicable professional licensure or certification

  • Current Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification within three (3) months of hire

  • Three (3) years clinical experience in chosen field

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Three (3) years prior Sub-Acute experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years staff supervision experience
